Seller's description:
Location: Englewood, Colorado, (previously Philadelphia, PA), note same California registration.897NRW
Condition: Excellent
Exterior: Black
Interior: Natural Leather
This was an original, numbers-matching car prior to being rebuilt and reengineered to make it a spectacular event car for the California Mille, Colorado Grand and other extended tours. Overall performance has been enhanced with more power and better brakes & handling—most notably being altered so tall guys can comfortably drive it! Consequently, it is NOT a concours-accurate show pony, but has been turned into a beautiful vintage icon with contemporary performance.
It was also not a rotted old mouse residence with decades of damage and abuse that got quickly puttied-over and given a loud exhaust. The restoration was extensive and included being stripped to bare metal (including the chassis), a rebuilt, tuned & balanced 3.8 engine with a large-valve straight-port head breathing through three Webers. Also boasts a Getrag 5-speed, 4-wheel power disc brakes, D-Type wheels, special seats, XK140 rack & pinion and three more pages of beautiful, professional, enhancements by one of the best-known XK fabricators.
The show-quality black paint is accented with all-new custom leather trim, new weather equipment and supported by several large binders of receipts and hundreds of photos documenting the transformation. You cannot find a more sophisticated and effective 1000-mile event classic Jaguar, and it is available immediately for far less than it cost to build.
Price: $265,000
