This car was last purchased in june 1989, and is still in good operating condition. Original engine rebuilt in 1993, fitted with new cylinder head for lead free valves. Original head kept apart.

Sold new in the USA, this Jaguar XK 120 Roadster is a desirable “M” version, which stands for “Modified” and corresponds to the SE “Special Equipment” version in Europe. It was setting itself apart from the standard version, thanks to several sporting features: a more sophisticated camshaft, special crankshaft damper, wire wheels, dual exhaust, 35.4mm torsion bars, lightened flywheel, firmer rear springs and Lucas fog lights. With these modifications, the engine produced 180 hp SAE instead of 160 hp.
This beautiful example was gifted to Jean-Jacques HIS by his wife 35 years ago and since then, the car has had extensive work carried out. The original engine was fully rebuilt at Harper and as for the original cylinder head (which will be supplied with the car), it was replaced with another one which was modified for the use of unleaded fuel. The gearbox and differential were serviced; the running gear were also redone, as well as the steering. Rear leaf springs were redone and telescopic shock absorbers were fitted at the rear (reversible modification). The electrical system was redone, allowing the installation of a single 12-volt battery with the ground on the negative.
For safety reasons, stainless steel wire wheels from the XK 140 were fitted, though the original steel spoke wheels will also be supplied. The hood, tonneau cover and side screens have been replaced and are in perfect condition. Famous engineer, responsible for designing Formula 1 engines at Ferrari and then Renault Sport, the owner of this beautiful roadster dedicated 35 years to ensuring that this car was in perfect working order, which we were pleased to witness behind the wheel of a perfectly tuned car, ready to hit the road.
