Purchased as a restoration project by the retired owner in 2009, this XK120 roadster has been fully restored by his personal mechanics and converted from left- to right-hand drive in the process. The accompanying Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust certificate reveals that the car (chassis number '673343') was despatched to the distributor Hoffman in California, USA in January 1953. It was the owner's intention that the car should drive perfectly so the original, bent chassis was replaced with a new one supplied by marque specialists A1XK's of Stoke Golding, Leicestershire (hence the DVLA-issued chassis number). Both the interior and electrics were renewed during restoration, and the chassis upgraded with disc brakes, wire wheels and Koni telescopic shock absorbers. Finished in Old English White with red leather interior, '547 YUM' was completed in 2012 and is described by the private vendor as in generally excellent condition. The car is offered with numerous parts invoices, (copy) old-style logbook, a quantity of expired MoT certificates and Swansea V5 registration document.

According to its Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, this fabulous example: Chassis No: 673343 - Engine no: 63268 was built in Jaguar's Browns Lane factory in Coventry on 18th December 1952 and was exported to Jaguar Dealer Hoffman in California on 6th January 1953. 

It remained in California until it was purchased and imported to the UK in 2009 by a Mr Lionel Parker from Bath as a restoration project for his retirement. He had the car fully restored by his personal mechanics and converted from left- to right-hand drive in the process. It was the owner's intention that the car should drive perfectly so the original, chassis was replaced with a brand new chassis supplied by marque specialists A1XK's of Stoke Golding, Leicestershire. Both the interior and electrics were all renewed during the restoration, the Engine was rebuilt and the Brakes were upgraded to 'Cooper-Craft' Front Disc Brakes, new Chrome Wire Wheels and Koni adjustable Telescopic Shock Absorbers were fitted. 

It was originally a BRG car when built, but it was decided to complete the restoration with a bare metal repaint in Old English White to compliment the new Red leather interior. The car was finally completed in 2012 and was registered with the DVLA on 1st October 2012 and given the very nice period number plate 547 YUM'. It was sold on behalf of Mr Parker by Bonham's at their auction at RAF Hendon in April 2013 to the current owner for £62,000 and he has subsequently had further works and enhancements carried out on the car including 'Electric Power Steering', Getrag 5 Speed Gearbox, new Red Mohair Hood and Weather equipment, new Tyres and much more which really do make this example one of the best currently available for sale.

This car was the subject of a 'body-off' restoration and had a brand new chassis fitted and the restoration took over 5 years to complete and the car was finally completed in 2012 and registered in the UK in October 2012.
It is in exceptional condition throughout and now for sale at our showrooms in London. (May 2019).
