This 1953 Jaguar XK120 roadster has spent over 35 years with the seller, who reportedly became its third owner after discovering the car in a Montana barn in 1982. A subsequent partial refurbishment involved a repaint in the original color along with the installation of a later XK140 straight-six, which remains fitted and is paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox. An additional engine and transmission are included in the sale and are assumed by the seller to be original. The car has been driven just 2,000 miles since the early 1980s and is sold with records from the seller's ownership as well as a New Mexico title.

Sheet metal was repainted in what is said to be its original hue of British Racing Green during a partial refurbishment in 1982. Front-end damage was sustained in 1984, after which the affected area was repaired and painted again. The older finish shows an assortment of marks and swirls under bright light. A small bubble and other blemishes are detailed in close-up photos.

Painted steel wheels wear polished hub caps up front and are hidden beneath full spats in the rear. No folding top or side curtains are currently equipped, though several related parts will be included for the new owner.

Interior trim is comprised of tan vinyl and fabric with matching carpets and a factory 4-spoke wheel. A small hole is noted in the passenger seat cushion, while wear and modifications are visible on the doors and kick panels.

Smiths instrumentation includes a reverse-sweep tach, 140 mph speedometer, and 5-digit odometer showing 67k miles. Approximately 2,000 miles have been added by the seller since 1982, including just 200 over the past five years. Total mileage is unknown.

The current engine is a twin-cam straight-six that was sourced from a later XK140 and is reportedly equipped with a "Type C" cylinder head. Induction is via twin SU carburetors, and exhaust is routed through a glasspack muffler. An aftermarket electric fan has been added to the stock radiator.

Shifting is through a 4-speed manual gearbox. Underbody photos show the general condition of the drivetrain, suspension, and chassis. The car retains a factory-style electrical setup with twin 6-volt batteries mounted behind the seat.

A crated engine and transmission are included in the sale and assumed by the seller to be original, though no number stamps or Heritage Trust certificate are available for verification. Five additional low-mileage Avon bias-ply tires are also included, but are 30 years old per the seller.

The sale also includes a factory service manual as well as records from 1982 onward.
