    Sellers description:
    Chassis No. 672923
This is a normal, left-hand-drive production North American Market, XK120 OTS (Open-two-seat) or what is commonly referred to as a "Roadster." It was built sometime in mid-Setpember of 1952 as a normal 1953 Model Year vehicle for export and sale to the United States via the official importer Max Hoffman and Jaguar Motor Car Company of North America.

The original selling dealer and first owner are not known at this time but the car was later road-registere on 1956 California "black & yellow" plates "401 FMW". On May 12th, 1980, the car was purchased and road-registered to Richard Bell Shipherd of Fresno, California. He retained the car until the early 1990s when it joined a growing collection in Houston, Texas.

It remained in Houston until 2007, when it again returned to California, this time to a private individual in our own home-town of La Jolla. In July of this year, we purchased this Jaguar.

The original engine is and remains number W6082-8 which is the normal specification 8:01 compression ratio engine. A new California title is being processed, however the old California title that incorrectly used the engine number for registration purposes accompanies the vehicle as well.

Full services and the correct original brakes have been fitted back to this both rust and accident free example. An extra set of new, optional wire wheels is included with the purchase of this Jaguar.

The original order for this particular vehicle was submitted by Charles Hornburg Jaguar America, the official West Coast Distributor for Jaguar vehicles from their Los Angeles, California offices. Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust records indicate that chassis 672923 was completed on September 25th, 1952. The exterior was originally finished in silver which was complemented by a red interior and black soft-top assembly. Delivery from the Factory took place on October 3rd, 1952.

Upon delivery to Hornburg Jaguar in Los Angeles, the Jaguar was offered for retail sale. The sale took place in early May of 1953 when it was sold as a new car to Beverly Hills, California resident, Philippe Gabrielle Spragg. This Jaguar remained with Mr. Spragg until October of 1979 when it was sold by him to the second owner, Mr. Richard Bell Shipherd of Fresno, California. The car was now repainted completely in white and had a black interior and still retained the original black soft-top at the time of his purchase. Mr. Shipherd retained this Jaguar until the early 1990s when it joined a growing private museum collection in Houston, Texas. In 2007, this Jaguar returned to CA and lived in San Diego with its fourth owner until being sold to a dealer in 2013. Due to very little use and careful storage, the cosmetics remained in excellent condition, but the mechanicals needed major refurbishment. Full services have just been completed and include all fluids, both carburetors have been rebuilt, the valves adjusted, new brakes and wheel cylinders fitted as well as suspension bushings. The tires and top are new. This is a very good running and driving XK120 with a fully detailed engine bay and undercarriage. All numbers match the factory build sheets.

    Price: $84,500
