This 1952 Jaguar XK120 roadster was produced on May 5, 1952 and initially delivered through Max Hoffman in New York. It was refurbished at some point before being acquired by the seller’s father in 1996 and is powered by a replacement 3.4-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission. The car has been refinished in white and is equipped with dual SU carburetors, a black convertible top, a split front windshield, and chrome bumpers and bumperettes in addition to 16″ steel wheels, lap belts, and Smiths gauges. This XK120 roadster is now offered in North Carolina by the seller on behalf of an estate with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, the owner’s manual, and a clean South Carolina title in the name of the late owner.
The body left the factory finished in French Grey and was repainted in its current shade of white at some point under prior ownership. Equipment includes a black convertible top, a split front windshield, chrome front bumpers, chrome rear bumperettes, and polished twin exhaust outlets. Blemishes on the front bumper and front of the car are noted.
Steel 16″ wheels with hubcaps and bright trim rings are mounted with Coker Classic whitewall tires. Rust on the wheels is noted. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drums.
The cabin houses bucket seats with red leather upholstery, which is complemented by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Appointments include lap belts, door map pockets, and a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer and a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock as well as auxiliary gauges. A VDO water temperature gauge is mounted below the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 2,400 miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six is equipped with dual SU carburetors. Service in 2024 involved changing the oil and cleaning the fuel tank, fuel lines, and the carburetors.
The engine stamping is shown above.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate lists the factory equipment, colors, serial numbers, and production dates.
The car is titled in South Carolina with the sequence W48138 listed as the VIN, which corresponds with the engine number W4813-8 shown on the data plate.
The car is being offered by the seller on behalf of an estate.
