Sellers description:
This beautiful 1952 Jaguar XK120 is a perfect example of a car that retains all the character and iconic styling of the original cars but benefits from thoughtful upgrades that make it capable of much more modern performance and reliability. The car was treated to a body-off "nut and bolt" restoration by a highly respected Arizona-based Jaguar specialist. During the restoration the major chassis components were completely rebuilt, including the suspension and brakes, and the frame was completely stripped and detailed. Today the underside of this car so clean one might want to try the white glove test. Upon close inspection there is no evidence of rust, or accident damage anywhere on the car. The body is also in immaculate condition, with better than new fitting panels and gaps, as well as perfect opening compartments. After the thorough restoration, a complete engine rebuild by Welsh Enterprises was undertaken to increase performance and drivability, as the current owner intended to use this car in tours like the California Mille or the Colorado Grand. The engine was fitted with a period-correct C-type head, as used on the XK120 SE, boosting power and torque. An alloy radiator was installed making the car more drivable in all conditions. For the purpose of high-speed touring, the slow shifting original gearbox was replaced with a far superior Tremec 5-speed that is only given away by the revised pattern on the shift knob. The car is currently presented in iconic British Racing Green over a Biscuit leather interior. The paint was recently applied by Los Angeles restorer John Pollack, along with re-plated chrome trim and general maintenance. The interior is gorgeous and features all the correct Smiths gauges and accessories, with the added bonus of competition style seat belts to keep the occupants in place during enthusiastic motoring. Fitted with chrome wire wheels and a correct set of Avon tires, this car looks exactly how one would imagine a classic XK120 OTS to appear. Delightful in appearance and fitted with thoughtful upgrades, this Jaguar will be a perfect car in which to show, or enjoy on a vintage tour, where one can truly take advantage of the subtle yet effective modifications. This car’s stunning presentation will surely garner attention wherever it is seen, whether on the road or at a show. This paramount show piece is ready to offer a part of the XK120 legend to its future owner. Mileage: 36,876
