Buy it Now Price was 44K

Seller's ad reads:
Up for Auction is a 1951 Jaguar XK 120 roadster. White With Red / White interior. Leather appears to be original but in decent shape. Runs well & well maintained Excellent driving car.

This is a 3-owner vehicle, which was modified by the original owner. It is a Driver and not a Pebble Beach winner, although if you drove it to a show it would probably get some attention.

The cars original owner was a doctor who purchased the vehicle new. Sometime there after he had the custom headrests/fairings installed along with the windshield. Also glass-pack mufflers were installed. Being a doctor he did not carry health insurance, so when he found out he had cancer the car was purchased by his neighbor to help defray the cost of treatment (his neighbor is a local car dealer/collector) –In 2000 the current owner purchased the car. At the time he purchased it –it had already been repainted, but still kept the original color combination. The current owner has had work done by a local mechanic who specializes in Jags and Austin Healeys (and restoration) –between 2002-2004 the motor has been rebuilt, radiator re-cored, new clutch installed, installed an electronic distributor, electric cooling fan—and right before being put up for auction checked over and tuned up. There is also a custom red tonneau cover for the cockpit.

The Car is unique in looks, runs good and is ready to drive. It would need body work, Chrome and paint work to put it back to original shape, but with it being solid underneath –that could be done easily. Or –Drive it as is. As mentioned the owner had the custom headrests and windshield installed—under the current paint you can see cracks in the body where to original work has aged (fiberglass or bondo?—not sure)—I added pics of this—but they are tough to see. The passenger side door has some waves in it as well. The Odometer shows 12636—I assume it is higher than that—but the mechanic does not feel it is 112000 –so true mileage is unknown.

That was the bad –The Good –It is a beautiful looking car and runs well. Numbers all match –and if you are not a purist—is a great fun car to drive around in. Sounds fantastic too. I am told it has had POR 15 all over the underside and that there are not any rust holes.
