Ebay item 8/6/18
www.ebay.com/itm/153126635702
Current bid: $55,100 reserve not met 3 bids 4 days left in auction, seller phillihawle_0, 68k miles.

Seller's description:
When my 1951 Jaguar XK120 SE was completely and professionally restored, it could readily have been finished as a show car. I wanted, however, a car which was easier, more comfortable and safer to drive so made several deliberate modifications, including:
-bucket seats pushed back for more cabin room
-five speed, fully synchromesh transmission
-turn signals, seat belts and a larger rear view mirror

Most of this could be reversed to a near concurs car.

The metallic bronze color was a factory color in 1950 and 51 but discontinued because of metallic paint quality problems. Mine is a modern paint in near perfect condition.
Engine and other mechanicals, body and electricals all in excellent condition. The car is in La Jolla, California.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
