    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-XK-120-OTS-XK120-OTS-ONE-OFF-1951-JAGUAR-XK120-OT ...
Current bid $5,100 reserve not met, 6 bids, 5 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
1951 Jaguar XK120 OTS by Autenrieth

Upon delivery of his new vehicle, a German business man discovered that the car was too small for him to drive comfortably.

He immediately decided to commission Autenrieth, a renowned coach builder from Darmstadt in Germany. The mission was to deliver a car adapted to his height and taste, while preserving the Jaguar racing heritage.

The result is stunning and unique, as the car exhibits the typical characteristics of a post-war Autenrieth body:

High belt line, curved windshield, with enameled burl on the instrument panel, metallic lacquer finish (referred to as central blue).

On pages 174 and 175 in the Autenrieth book the car is mentioned. (Erste Darmstädter Karosseriewerke Autenrieth, ISBN 3-92874603-0). Body works Autenrieth/Darmstadt 1922-1964.

This vehicle is a one of and certainly a very interesting addition to any serious XK collection.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
