The most expensive car I have ever owned. I paid US$300 for it in March 1963. It only ran on five cylinders. I rebuilt it and drove it on Route 66 in l966 from Chicago to LA. It was my daily drive from 1964 to 1974, and a weekend driver until 1987. When my kids graduatied University and got married, I started a body-off restoration. In 2009, I finished welding in chassis (frame) repair sections. The running gear is totally rebuilt except the steering box has a new worm gear on the shelf to be fitted.
The engine will go to XK's Unltd this spring for unleaded gas conversion and possibly C type upgrades. I hope to have XK's Unltd straighten and fit the body in the Summer of 2010.

Seller's description:
1951 Jaguar XK-120 OTS Roadster reimagined
This car is not for everyone. Only if you are looking for one of the best driving XK 120’s in the world, this is it! It has not just been meticulously restored but it has been reimagined, incorporating the upgrades all XK enthusiasts would endorse. The full frame off and mechanical restoration has been completed by by XK’s Unlimited in San Luis Obispo, CA in 2017. No expense was spared.
It is perfect for someone who wants the classic beauty of a XK- 120 along with the bonus of drivability. The tasteful re-imagination made to this car includes “C” head and cams for boost of power, 5 speed synchro-gear box, rack and pinion steering, XK140 radiator, extended cabin, hydraulic clutch, front disc brakes and a dual performance exhaust for a spectacular sporty sound. Other features include and electronic ignition for regular easy starts. For a final custom look a Monza quick release fuel cap has been fitted to the rear quarter upper fender.
This car is as close to perfect as you can get. Thousands have been spent resulting in a virtually perfect body and interior. There are barely 500 miles on this full restoration. Color is BRG with tan leather interior. Heritage Certificate of course.
Awards: During Monterey Carweek in 2018, this car won the Christie L. Miller British Award for the best representation of a Post World War II British Sports Car. The event was Carmel’s 2018 Concour on the Avenue.
No surprises, expensive

Just before I sold my restoration business, XKs Motorsport, we did a spectacular restoration on a XK120 roadster. The car is as resto-mod with many up grades. Improved suspension, rack and pinion steering, dual circuit brakes, front discs, five speed gearbox, exteneded foot wells for taller drivers, etc. The car has won Best British Car of The Quail Concourse at the Monterey Car Week in 2018. Unfortunately the owner died two weeks later!
The widow recently has finally decided to sell it. They spent close to $350K on the restoration but is open to reasonable offers. PM me if interested. It is a spectacular car!
