I purchased the car from Al (last name escapes me) in 1979 from a scrap yard in West Islip, Long Island, NYC. The next to the last of the LHD aluminum cars, it was missing a rear wing and was in heavily dented, though moderately otherwise complete condition. I flat-towed it to Florida, kept it for a while, and eventully sold it as part of a package deal to Bill Welsh, of Welsh Jaguar Enterprises, in Steubenville, Ohio, in 1987; don't know what he did with it since then.

The last LHD Aluminium car was 670184 so there were another 11 after this one

I bought the car in 1980 from Al Lang in a junkyard in West Islip, LI,. NY. It was extremely rough, but a 1950 aluminum XK-120 OTS (LHD)! It was missing the right rear wing completely, and all other exterior sheet metal had serious dings, probably from banging around in Al's junkyard. I dragged it down to Florida on a flat tow, and garaged it for 8 years, where it sat untouched. Sold it in 1988 when I moved North to Bill Welsh, of Welsh Jaguar in Steubenville, Ohio, along with a '55 XK-140 OTS and 8 tons of Jaguar parts! . It's my understanding that Bill has since sold it to someone else for proper restoration.

something funny going on with this chassis number in January 1978 this chassis number ie 670173 was advertised out of Santa Barbara California as mechanically excellent 5000 miles on rebuilt engine, body perfect and restoration 90% complete $18,500 which was big money for 1978 !
The seller may have misquoted the chassis number but clearly states alloy car

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
