Car surfaces as sold at:
www.gullwingmotorcars.com/1950-jaguar-xk120-roadster-c-3589.htm

Seller's description:
This 1950 Jaguar XK120 Roadster Alloy Body is an incredibly rare and collectible car to restore. One of only 240 ever produced. Originally silver but now down to bare metal. The car retains its original red leather interior. Just out of an estate. The previous owner bought the car in 1957 and drove it until 1962 when it was parked in a garage. The car has been sitting ever since. Car #98 still wears its original body and is offered with an extremely rare Scot hardtop. This special and elusive discovery is well worth the effort and has loads of investment potential. An incredibly rare chance to restore an Alloy Bodied XK120 Roadster.

Car now on ebay, listed as a 1955,same seller and description as above:

www.ebay.com/itm/276659996774

The 100 cars nearest 50 before and 50 after were all built in the first quarter of 1950 and those nearest this car late January 1950. It is possible the title may list it as a 1955, that would likely be a typo somewhere in its life and misleading. It was listed as a 1950 by the same seller in 2018.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
