I am currently trying to research this cars history & any help would be greatly appreciated.
Its 1st registration was HTG 830 & was owned Sir Mark Page of Faversham Kent England. The car was then sold to a local garage in 1956 and we have no record of it until 1984.
It was it was brought to France by a Mr Fontaine Picoureix who was working in London when he acquired the car. In France it was registered 383-ELS-75. It went through two further owners in France acquiring the number 122-FCA-75 and another number before returning to the UK and being sold to Ireland by Jeremy Wade in the late 1990's.
The car is currently a weekly driver and is a regular on IVVCC runs & rallys.

Additional information from the '98 H&H auction:
This is a very rare original right hand drive 1953 Jaguar XK 120 Drophead Coupe, probably one of the most desirable cars to leave the Jaguar factory, but certainly they were a veritable milestone in motoring history.
This superb example has been entered by one of our clients from Scotland and it is reluctantly being sold, after being in his collection for many years, to fund a building project but prior to his ownership the car spent ten years in Paris and whilst it was in France it was rebuilt. The bodywork is finished in White and it has the Red interior trim and a Black hood and the vendor informs us that the the car drives and performs on the road very well indeed and of course it comes with the superb 3442cc six cylinder engine and the manual four speed gearbox.
The car is still currently showing its French registration number but we are informed that its original English registration number - HTG 830 is available and the new owner can apply for this to Swansea. All in all this car must be one of the best available with a large history file and don't forget - it is not a converted car - it is an original right hand drive U.K. car.

Thanks Pauls for the information you provided. I will add this to our file. Any idea how we can find out more information as to who owned it in Scotland prior to the auction in Nov 98?

Regards
Denis
