The Jaguar XK120 was a sports car manufactured by Jaguar between 1948 and 1954. It was the first post-war sports car from the marque, succeeding the SS 100.
Hollywood stars such as Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Clark Gable and Lauren Bacall all owned one.

This is a 1951 steel bodied car with alloy doors, bonnet and boot lid to save weight. It has had just 4 owners and covered only 44,000 miles since new.

It is currently fitted with a slightly warmer motor, “C” Type Jaguar gearbox and 2” Twin SU Carburettors, it will be sold with the original engine block, cylinder head and 1”3/4 carburettors. It performs very well in comparison to modern traffic, capable of a top speed of just over 200 kmh and 0-60 mph in bang on 10 seconds.

The car is finished in the classic colour combination of BRG and tan leather with a black convertible top. It was restored some time ago but still presents extremely well with a lovely degree of patina that is so lovely with these cars. This is a great car for the enthusiast owner who would like to be part of the XK’s 60th birthday celebrations this year.

Part of a collection and has been in the same ownership for over 25 years.

A super stately driver.

My father has owned the car since circa 1980 & still does.

The car is said to be spotted at the 2013 Australian Grand Prix in the June 2013 edition of the XK Gazette.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
