I bought this car as a Chassis only, without body/engine,etc in 1988 and am in the process of rebuilding the car as a replica of LT1, with an all aluminium light weight body.
The car will be used for racing.

The number says the build date is April 1951 not February

one of the problems with build dates is when is a car exactly built the factory records show in the first column of ledgers the "date the chassis was completed" I takes this as the full rolling chassis with engine and gearbox fitted. The next date used is date of invoice and one would assume the car was completed at this point. The next date is date of despatch ie the day the car left the factory and this can be before or after date of invoice and the final date somtimes in factory records is the date of registration. I am not sure which date the JHT use on Heritage certificates but it may be date chassis completed?
