A truly unique opportunity to obtain (purchase ) reputedly the last and only remaining, one owner from new, XK 120 OTS (Singapore May 1951). Exceptional provenance!
I took delivery of the car in Singapore docks May 1951 which is now possibly the only XK still with its owner from new., Original REG AA1771, Ipoh Malaya then later reregisterd Southhampton UK in 1954 on REG MOW 523, which it still has to this day, This car has a exceptionally diverse history - from bullet holes in Malaya (1952) to towing Mosquito aircraft at Lossiemouth, Scotland 1955, Also of great importance is the fact it took the First Place Trophy at Canada's British Empire Motor Club's International Winter Rally (1957). The original Winter Rally rose bowl trophy may be available with the car.The car has some sensible upgrades, however all original parts are included in the sale should you wish to return to standard spec. This car is a full matching numbers car and carries the chassis Number 660725
The mileage at present is a genuine 23000 miles from new. Included in the sale are a great deal of valuable spares and a very rare period Universal Laminations hard top plus full weather gear. A great deal of the car's history is included in the book entitled "An Unusual C.V " by Bob Henderson . To re-cap this is a very reliable on the road go any where car with a fantastic pedigree, a rare opportunity indeed. Genuine callers only please.
Price: £85000 As stated

My wife and I are now the very proud and fortunate owners of this beautiful car, which as a result of the amazing life of Bob Henderson has an outstanding history. Having bought it from Bob three years ago, it has been lovingly restored to original condition using the various parts supplied with the car. It has been entered in the Mille Miglia twice, but has yet to be accepted. We remain hopeful that it will be eventually be accepted for the event and that it will be given the chance to continue its racing heritage, having last raced and indeed won Canada's British Empire Motor Club International Winter Rally in 1957.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
