The car depicted as FPN 124 Chassis No. 660369 is a modern day 'new build' Replica built in 2011/12 - a 'Kit Car' in fact, without any true history at all, and certainly not Goodwood. This car does not have one single nut, bolt, washer, paperwork, history etc. from the original car, and this identity has been falsely/illegally acquired. The REAL FPN 124 660369 was dismantled in the late 1970's following a minor road accident, and the rolling chassis put into storage, where it remains to this day, awaiting it's rebuild.

Just seen the comments on FPN124, I remember that John May used to own this car and in fact won the Jaguar Drivers Club "Bartrop Trophy" for the best prepared competition car. Back then it was silver blue, cannot remember the date but was around mid 1970's

Only just seen your posting, nice to see someone has an accurate memory. Yes, I did win the 'Bartropp Trophy' for the best presented 'Competition Jaguar XK' in FPN 124. In fact I won this trophy three times, first in 1975 with WMF 338, the
Rev. Fellingham then won it in 1976 with his 140 FHC, I then won it again in 1977 with FPN 124, 660369, and again in 1978 with the 'Alloy' car 670150, previous winners were Frank Eaton and David Cottingham. All three cars were identical in their outward appearance, finished in Silver/Blue metallic with red trim, indeed the 'Blue cars' became something of a 'Trade Mark' associated with my name.
I still own the original FPN 124 - 660369 albeit stored for many years, whilst the other two cars are still Silver/Blue, and both in very long term ownership. 670150 (the original factory supercharged car) being in the same ownership in Germany since 1990, whilst WMF 338 is still with it's well known Lawyer owner in the U.K. since the 1970's.

You will probably see from other postings that the identity of 660369 has been 'STOLEN' (in 2010), via a false DVLA V62 Application, so there are currently 'two', a Replica (FAKE) of 660369 has been built and sold, complete with a 'FAKE history', by a 'well known purveyor' of Jaguar XK's, who has even advertised it in these columns. The same person has also created a similar scenario, via an old 'Brown Log Book', for a Lister Jaguar, with 25 years of missing owners and 'FAKE history'.

This type of FRAUD is obviously being stimulated by the ever increasing values of the type of cars that this excellent website caters for - mainly Jaguar XK's. Whilst I personally consider this site superb for 'genuine' enthusiasts, it also gives a lot of information that can be used by the dishonest. If you have something to say, put your name to it, Terry McGrath in Australia is a good example, usually those signing 'Anonymous' are 'hiding under stones' anyway.
When the above scenario is resolved, I hope the 'Authorities' will make it widely published. Kit cars and Replicas should have a DVLA chassis number allocated, and be 'Q Plated', whilst 'total takes' should be 'crushed', as indeed they are in Italy!

The majority of restoration businesses are full of crooks and greedy fatcats who ruin it for genuine restorers who don't use European copy chassis and body's and pass them off to be original cars also too much of buying logbooks and chassis plates is a daily occurrence

I adore xk's and I have been restoring them for many years (properly) but I have recently changed career because of the amount of fraudulent acts I have witnessed from major jaguar restorers ,owners ,

Watch this space it will all hit the fan

A nicely illustrated article documenting the repair of the original chassis can be found in the November 2019 edition of the Jaguar Enthusiast Club magazine. Very much a conservation approach taken.

The chassis frame was repaired by Woodham Mortimer in 2019, mechanicals were done by CKL and the body / paint by Norfolk Premier Coachworks. Final assembly and testing will be with CKL.

Hopefully back on the road later this year.
