Description/extras: Very well presented 1950 Jaguar XK120 Roadster 660248 - one of the most famous British sports cars - has been restored to the highest standard, and looks and drives beautifully.
The car was originally despatched from Coventry arriving at Adelaide 10 April 1951, the first owner was Dudley G Braendler at Murray Bridge. The car was bought in Perth, Jan 1970, came to Sydney early 1974 and after some repairs the car was garaged until Dec 2019 when it was taken to Tony Pallas of All Classic Cars, Brookvale.
It has been very fortunate to work onsite with the Pallas team, and over 18 months from Dec 2019 a full restoration has been undertaken. In summary: meticulous chassis, body repairs and paintwork, new wiring loom, reconditioned instruments, detailed overhaul of engine, 9:1 pistons, new SS exhaust system, new wire wheels and tyres and conversion to front disc brakes, Moss gearbox checked, all rechroming including repair of grille, complete upholstery refurbishment, and addition of a multitude of original parts, new hood and rebuilt side screens.
The car is a beauty to drive and participated in the 3 day 2022 Jaguar Motor Rally, arguably the most beautiful car in the fleet.
A full photographic & text record of the car’s history and all restoration work, with invoices is available. Many spare parts, numerous technical & Jaguar books, copy No. 248 of The Jaguar XK in Australia, Elmgren and McGrath, 1985, etc included.
original head available & restorable.
