Offered for auction on TradeMe: www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx
The ad reads:
1950 Jaguar XK120

Started life as XK120 Roadster chassis #660106, 47th steel bodied 120 built.

Converted in late 50's early 60's to FHC as were a few with Buckle and other homologated hardtop designs, has had some racing history in NSW, Australia, hence some quite extensive mod's.

Has replacement 3 1/2 litre Jaguar engine at some stage, all there, original g/box, seats, diff and running gear, all complete and together, however it is a substantial restoration job if you are keen or just get it running, clean it up reg and WOF it and use it as it is!

Was still for sale in Christchurch New Zealand in early April 2006. The owner was wanting beween $25,000 and $30,000 New Zealand dollars. It was not running but he had another running engine to put into it. As of 14 April 2006 it was no longer listed for sale.

I have added more photos of the car that have appeared on the web auction site. The owner offered me a buy now price of $22,000 New Zealand dollars. The photos indicate its probably only worth half that amount. Car still for sale as at 27 October 2006.

1950 Jaguar XK120 OTS (Open Top Sports/Roadster)

Started life as XK120 Roadster/OTS, (Open Top Sports) chassis #660106, 47th steel bodied XK120 built.

Sold new in Adelaide, Australia, so it's a genuine RHD, (no LHD coversions here!)

Converted in late 50's early 60's to FHC as were a few with Buckler and other homologated hardtop designs, has had some racing history in NSW, Australia, hence some quite extensive mod's.

Has had a replacement 3 1/2 litre Jaguar engine at some stage, has original g/box, seats, diff and running gear.

That engine has been removed and another 3 1/2 litre Jaguar engine fitted, it is up and running with recond. carbs., brake master cylinder, clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder, recond. fuel pump, cleaned and pressure tested fuel tank, new fuel lines, cleaned and pressure tested radiator, new exhaust, 5 sandblasted and refinished wheels and new 600x16 tyres, (basically you can 'drive it away!')

Been gathering up some bits, for example the original alloy pulley/fan waterpump setup, original windscreen frames, running replacement 3 1/2 litre engine out of a 120!, (now fitted and running), generator and 2 x starter motors fully reconditioned, a lot of value here.

Any doubts take a look at:
www.docsjags.com/sales/projects/projects.html

Not very often seen!, rare as hen's teeth!, take courage! and have some fun!

I am the new owner of the car and its back in its birthplace in the UK!!
We are about 1/2 way through it and to say it has been full of surprises is an understatement but we are struggling through as best we can!!!

I would be very interested on any info on the engine mentioned on the 8th Feb as, I am trying to get it back to as original as possible. Any help very gratefully received!

It will be back on the road, as it deserves, in the not too distant future...I hope!
Thanks in advance!
Adam

Hi Anyone,
Please can anyone assist in locating the present UK owner of 660106, or it's current 'whereabouts', I was past owner in NZ and am now very close to returning to NZ and DVLA have refused my second far more extensive Application so I can just have a look at this finished car before I go back to NZ and maybe never ever have the opportunity ever again, thank you.
