"Very rarely do such genuine and original cars come to market and we are delighted to offer such a car to-day. This very early Right Hand Drive example (Chassis No.: 660081) was exported to USA for its first owner with whom its stayed for some 25 years. It then returned to UK and remained the property of its second only owner until now. With such excellent provenance, the car has remained remarkably original and unrestored . This is a car which can be used either `as is`, or which, with a sympathetic repaint and attention to cosmetics, would still look very original. Complete with its disc wheels and spats, this lovely example is finished in Silver (the original colour was Grey) with Red trim and must rank as one of the few unrestored, but completely usable, XK120 Open Two Seaters extant."

On the basis that right-hand drive XK120 Roadster production began with chassis number 660001, this particular example - chassis 660081 - is a notably early car. Reportedly "supplied new to the USA before being repatriated during 1988", the Jaguar is variously described by the vendor as being in "original" (interior trim), "good" (engine, gearbox, electrical equipment, wheels / tyres), "poor" (paintwork) or "excellent" (chassis, bodywork) condition. Finished in silver with red leather upholstery, '62 PTB' is offered for sale with MOT certificate valid until September 2008.

Sellers description:
This is a very early RHD XK 120 roadster - chassis number 81. It is in remarkable original condition and has had only two owners from new and is reputed to have only done 25,000 miles. It has never been restored and the grey paint is worn. The trim is patinated but could be conserved. The body is wonderfully straight and just as it left the factory. The car is taxed and MOTd. Unspoilt originality is increasingly sought after nowadays and this car is quite remarkable. £36750

This car is now in private hands and lives near Stow on the Wold in Gloucestershire. Used regularly and remaining unrestored and being preserved as is. Would love to find more history and photos of when it was in America having been supplied new to Norman Gans by Hoffmans in New York and he kept it until about 1987 when it came back to the UK and was own by the same owner for a further 20 years. I am effectively the third owner. Gans allegedly drove this car from Connecticut to Florida for his wedding.
