This 1959 Jaguar XK150 Drophead Coupe was built on November 9, 1959 and delivered new to Delecroix Jaguar in Paris, France. The car is said to have remained with its original owner until the 1990s, when it changed hands and underwent a refurbishment, including a repaint in Imperial Maroon over tan leather. It is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and features include a beige soft top, 16″ knock-off wire wheels, disc brakes, a Leaper hood ornament, driving lights, and a luggage rack. Since being acquired by the current owner in 2007, the car has been used in numerous events in Europe, including six entries in the Tour Auto. This XK150 is now offered in France on dealer consignment with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, a FIVA identity card, service records, and French registration.
Finished from the factory in Cotswold Blue, the car was repainted in Imperial Maroon in the 1990s and features a folding beige soft top, a Leaper hood ornament, a one-piece windshield, driving lights, a luggage rack, and full-width chrome bumpers with overriders. The seller notes paint imperfections on the front fenders and chips around the body.
The chrome 16″ knock-off wire wheels were installed in 2018 and mounted with 185/16 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires in 2024. A full-size spare is stored under the trunk floor, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs. The suspension bushings, rear leaf springs, and shock absorbers were replaced in 2024. Replacement wheel bearings were installed in 2023.
The fixed-back seats were reupholstered in tan leather in the 1990s, and they are complemented by a leather-wrapped dashboard. Interior appointments include lap belts, a cabin heater, a defroster, wind-up side windows, a fire extinguisher, door storage pockets, and a folding rear bulkhead. The seller notes wear on the carpets.
The four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 6k-rpm tachometer with an embedded clock as well as a 140-mph speedometer and an ammeter alongside gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 50k kilometers (~31k miles), and approximately 80k kilometers have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The analog clock is inoperative.
The 3,442cc inline-six featured dual SU HD6 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 210 horsepower and 213 lb-ft of torque. The seller tells us the engine was rebuilt in the mid-2000s. The fuel tank and lines were replaced in 2017 and the cooling system was upgraded the following year.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, which is also said to have been rebuilt in the mid-2000s. A stainless-steel exhaust system was installed in 2016.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate shows the factory colors, serial numbers, and build date of November 9, 1959.
An Identity Card issued in October 2007 by the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens (FIVA).
The vehicle is being sold on its French registration, which serves as an ownership document in France.
