This car is mentioned in Jaguar Driver magazine June 1989 in a letter from the then owner Tony Perkins of Sunningdale Berkshire. He said that he had bought it about three years before as a wreck (photo showed this). He was in the process of restoring the car and there was another photo showing the progress.

Same engine number as 827443, this car is showing its cyl head number which matches.

Body P6702 is now attached to my chassis 827116DN (3033RE) which originally started with body P6622. So at some point in the 1990's this car was stripped with the engine and body donated to other cars. It seems odd to me that my car should get a new body but suppose this one was in better condition.

I have not found out who was responsible for this change or the photos referred in the article.

As of 4/22 this car is not taxed and has no MOT since 1995.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
