Can somebody explain the discrepancy between the cast number of block (C17200FF) and the block number? (VA1993-8)
See also the comments at the engine pictures.
Could it be a factory spare block?

As you can see at the combination picture (other 2022-11-29) the number, factory hand written in yellow, on the hinge panel corresponds with the key number of the cubby-/glovebox lock. This number is also equal for the trunk/boot lock. In my case FP638.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
