This roadster was bought at an auction organized by Mr Poulain at the Palais des Congrès in June 1997. The appraisal report at the time stated that the car had been restored in the 80s by a previous Belgian owner, before being imported in 1993 by a French collector who had it repainted and the underbody protected with Blackson undercoating. This example was sold new in the USA and had 2,826 miles on the clock in August 2012, compared to 2,838 today. The previous restoration needs to be continued, especially on the bodywork, but it serves as an interesting base for such a project. This elegant roadster still has its side-screens, jack and crank, and we noted the presence of an additional electric fan. Its superb lines, brilliant engine and the fact that only 3276 left-hand drive cars were produced, mean that this XK will leave no one indifferent.
